SEATTLE – Khot Juac made history today as the first USF women's runner to compete in the NCAA National Championships. Juac competed at Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place, Washington today and etched her name in the USF record books.

"It is such an honor to be able to compete at this level and to experience this level of competition on a national stage," said Juac. "It was great to get to race against some of the best competition in Division II."

Juac was one of 262 racers today placing 48th as an individual with a time of 21:28.50 in the women's 6K event. With a 3:32.7 split, Juac continued to climb the leaderboard today.

"Outstanding run for Khot today," said Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Doug Petersen. "Running in wet and sloppy conditions, she still recorded her second fastest time in the 6K. We missed All-American honors by just 8 seconds, but I'm beyond proud of Khot for the season she has had and the history she has made here at Nationals!"

This season Juac competed in a total of seven meets this season with a 5K best of 18:02.06 at the Mt. Marty Invite and a 6K best of 21:10.84 at the NCAA Regional meet. She picked up a 1st place finish at the Mt. Marty Invite and a 17th overall finish at the NCAA Regional meet.

Juac will be back in action this winter as she transitions to the indoor track & field season for the Cougars.
