BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The University of Sioux Falls Tennis Team (10-9, 5-6 NSIC) will be seeded seventh and face No. 2 seed Winona State (13-3, 9-2 NSIC) in the NSIC Women's Tennis Tournament on April 22-24 at the Huether Family Match Pointe.
The NSIC announced the pairings for the 2022 NSIC Women's Tennis Tournament today after the 11-match NSIC schedule concluded Monday. Augustana, which won its 12th straight NSIC regular season championship, will be the number one seed in the eight-team single elimination tournament.
First round pairings on Friday, April 22 have (2) Winona State taking on (7) Sioux Falls at 9 a.m. At 11:30 a.m. (3) Southwest Minnesota State will take on (6) Upper Iowa. At 2 p.m. (1) Augustana takes on (8) St. Cloud State and the 4:30 p.m. match has (4) Minnesota State versus (5) the University of Mary. All match start times are subject to change if earlier matches run long. No matches will begin early than the announced start time.
Both semifinal matches will be play Saturday, April 23 at 2 p.m. with the championship match set for Sunday, April 24 at 10 a.m.
The Cougars, which was projected seventh in the NSIC preseason poll, completed a third straight winning season with its third double-digit wins season in the DII era. USF has won at least five NSIC matches in the 10 seasons in the NSIC. USF has had six winning NSIC records and just finished one game below .500 this year.
