Box Score SIOUX FALLS – The University of Sioux Falls Tennis Team (10-7, 5-4 NSIC) battled Winona State (13-2, 9-1 NSIC) before falling, 7-0, in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action on Friday, April 8 at the Huether Family Match Pointe.
With the setback, USF fell to 5-4 in league play as a three-match NSIC winning streak ended. USF is now 10-7 overall while Winona State moved to 9-1 and second in the NSIC.
With three starters out, the Cougars fought hard in both singles and doubles against the second place team in the NSIC.
"I was impressed with the way our team played tonight," said USF Head Coach
Kevin Grebin. "The scores do not reflect how they performed tonight. They battled in a lot of tough points tonight. I was happy they worked so hard," added Grebin, whose team will host Upper Iowa on Saturday, April 9, at the Huether Family Match Pointe.

Peyton Forney lost to Rina Niehoff and Rachel Kelly, 6-2. At No. 2 doubles, Beth Murman and Sara Anderson defeated
Emily Thinnsen and
Katelyn Nesheim, 6-1.
In singles, sophomore
Danielle Thorfinnson played at No. 1 singles for the first time and lost Rachel Kelly of WSU, 6-3, 6-3. At No. 2 singles, freshman
Emily Thinnsen moved up to play at that position for the first time and dropped a 6-0, 6-4 decision to Beth Murman. At No. 3, freshman
Katelyn Nesheim moved up to No. 3 and lost 6-1, 6-1 to Rina Niehoff. At No. 4, senior
Peyton Forney fell to Sara Anderson, 6-0, 6-0 while freshman
Brianna Holm took her first loss in singles in a 6-4, 6-2 setback to Brooke Holloway. In No. 6 singles, freshman
Annika Randt dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Brooke Jorgensen.
