Lexington, KY – For the 14^th consecutive year, the University of Sioux Falls Volleyball team has received the U.S Marine Corps and American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award.
 
The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale. More than 1200 collegiate and high school volleyball teams earned the award this season.
 
"Academic achievement does not happen by accident," said AVCA Executive Director Kathy DeBoer. "I'm so proud of the hundreds of coaching staffs that make excellence in the classroom a priority."
 
Under direction from second year Head Coach Dan Mathews, USF Volleyball has continued its long standing tradition of receiving this award. "We're so proud of our team and their dedication to their studies," Said Mathews, "Being able to consistently receive this award every season is a testament to all the great student-athletes this program has had over the years."
