SIOUX FALLS – The University of Sioux Falls and head coach Jim Glogowski are proud to announce the hiring of Lucas Lueders as the new Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator.
"I am thrilled to add Coach Lucas Lueders, his wife Megan and their two sons to the USF family," said Coach Glogowski. "His experience and resume speaks for itself. He has been a part of national championship teams and has an outstanding reputation for developing student-athletes. He is a great fit for our coaching staff!"
Lueders joins the Coo following a three year stint at the University of Central Missouri where he served as their offensive coordinator and wide receiver coach. In his first season with the Mules, Lueders offense led the MIAA in passing offense and was fourth in the conference in total offensive yards. Lueders also produced one first team all-conference and D2CCA All-Super Region 3 wide receiver who ranked second in Division II in receiving yards.
Prior to Central Missouri, Lueders spent 10 seasons at Morningside College where he was named their offensive coordinator in 2013. While with the Mustangs, he also served as their recruiting and wide receivers coach. Lueders helped produce one of the most high-volume offensive attacks in all of NAIA football along with two national championships. In 2018, he was named FootballScoop.com's Coordinator of the Year.
During his time at Morningside, the Mustangs had two undefeated seasons in 2018 and 2019 with 29 straight wins. Lueders offense averaged 52.5 points a game while averaging 563.4 yards of offense. In 2015, Lueders offense set a national record with 825 points on the year while averaging 58.9 points a game. During their 2015, 2017 and 2019 campaigns, the Mustangs had the only offense with over 4,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards in the same season.
With the Mustangs, Lueders coached three National Players of the Year and 27 All-Americans. Morningside went 108-12 during Lueders tenure with two national championships, three national championship appearances and nine conference championships.
Prior to Morningside, Lueders spent two years at St. Ambrose University as an offensive and defensive graduate assistant while earning his master's in organizational leadership. Before St. Ambrose, Lueders spent one season at Sterling College where he served as a student assistant coach for the linebackers. In 2008, he received his bachelors in exercise science from Sterling College.
Before his coaching career, Lueders was a four-year starter for the Warriors of Sterling College. He served as a captain his senior year while helping lead Sterling to their best season in school history with a record of 8-2.
Lueders joins the Cougar Family with his wife Megan and their two sons, Greysen and Davis.
