BURNSVILLE – The NSIC announced their men's and women's all-conference teams earlier today with Matt Cartwright being named to this year's NSIC All-Conference First Team.
This season, Cartwright has led the Cougars as the No. 1 scorer on the team and second in the NSIC. He's averaging 21.7 points a game while totaling 587 points on the season. Cartwright recently recorded his 1,000th career point with the Cougars and sits at 1,023 career points with USF and a career total of 1,840 in 121 games between his time at Augustana (817) and Sioux Falls (1,023).
Cartwright has dropped 92 three pointers this season as well as 201 field goals while going 93 for 108 from the free throw line. He's pulled down 119 rebounds for the Cougars while dishing out 48 assists. Throughout this season, Cartwright has been named the NSIC South Division Player of the Week twice this season as well as the D2 Player of the Week.
Cartwright and the Cougars will face off against the Dragons of MSU Moorhead this Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the NSIC Men's & Women's Basketball Tournament held at the Sanford Pentagon.
