BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The University of Sioux Falls Volleyball team was picked to finish 6th in the NSIC Preseason Poll. Concordia University, St. Paul was picked by the league coaches in the NSIC Preseason Volleyball Poll. The Golden Bears are coming off a 2022 season where they finished 31-6 and advanced to the NCAA National Championship match. CSP received eight first place votes to tally 190 points. The defending NSIC regular season champions of Wayne State were picked second with 189 points and had the other seven first place votes.  Minnesota Duluth was third with 165 points while defending tournament champions of St. Cloud State were fourth with 154 points.

The USF Volleyball team finished last year at 18-10 and 14-6 in conference play. Highlighted by a 5 match winning streak to end the regular season. "Last season, USF was a young team with four freshman starters. Despite a difference in experience, we were able to find success against some excellent opponents," said Head Coach Dan Matthews. "Although we are still a relatively young team this year, we are a team with improved experience and maturity. I am excited to see this team learn and grow as our younger team members develop into more complete volleyball players, including a very talented group of incoming freshman."

Jordan Kuper was picked as the USF Volleyball Player to Watch for this season. Jordan was named to the NSIC All-Conference 2nd Team, named to the NSIC Fall All-Academic Team of Excellence, and named a D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award Recipient. Head Coach Dan Matthews made some glowing remarks about Jordan stating, "With her performance on the court, her dedication to her teammates, and her commitment to academics, Jordan Kuper has been a strong leader on our team for the past two years. As an upperclassmen, Jordan is now stepping into a more vocal leadership position and serving as a true role model for our younger players. Jordan succeeds as a person, student, and athlete because she has a genuine love for the sport of volleyball and the community which surrounds it. This quality is what makes her so fun to coach in training and to watch in competition."

The 2023 NSIC Volleyball season will begin with non-conference matches on Thursday, August 31 while the NSIC schedule begins September 14-16.  The NSIC regular season champion will be determined by the 18-game conference schedule. The 2023 NSIC Volleyball Tournament shall be an eight-team tournament with the quarterfinals hosted at the top four seeds on Tuesday, November 14 and the semifinals/championship matches hosted at the highest remaining seed. The semifinals/championship matches will take place on two consecutive days between Friday and Sunday, November 17-19 with the dates of competition determined by the host institution.
