Sioux Falls, S.D. - The University of Sioux Falls Women's Basketball team fell to the University of Mary tonight 60-53.
The Cougars and Marauders played a tight game throughout starting in the first quarter with UMary taking the period 14-8. The Cougars struggled offensively shooting 18% from the field and did not make a 3. UMary shot 29% from the field and also did not make a 3. In the second period the Marauders shot 25% from the field and went 1-3 from behind the arc. USF continued to struggle offensively going 1-6 from the 3-point line and shooting 21% from the field. Mary took a 21-17 lead into the halftime break after USF won the 2nd quarter 9-7.Â
Both offenses came to life in the 2nd half as UMary took the 3rd quarter 22-17. The Marauders shot 62% from the field and went 1-2 from behind the arc while USF went 50% from the field and 2-3 from behind the arc. The Cougars continued to play well on the offensive end in the 4th quarter. USF shot 53% from the field and 50% from behind the arc. The Cougars had 20 points in the paint compared to 36 for Mary and the Marauders won the rebounding battle 42-26.Â
LEADERS
Kylie Wroblewski led USF in scoring with a season high 12 points. Ayla Brown added 11 points and Kami Wadsworth chipped in 10. Â
Wroblewski paced the Coo in rebounding as well with 7 boards. Brown added 5 rebounds and Brecli Honner chipped in 4.
Brown and Honner tied for the team lead in assists with 3. Madison Wuebben added 2 assists as well. Honner and Brown also tied for the team lead in minutes tonight with 37 each.Â

The Cougars will be back in action Friday February 2 in the Stewart Center. They will host Winona State starting at 5:30PM.
