SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The University of Sioux Falls Athletics will be hosting a 2024 CFP National Championship viewing party at Great Shots in Sioux Falls, in support of former USF coaches Kalen DeBoer, Chuck Morrell and Ryan Grubb, along with former graduate assistant, Lee Marks. Kalen DeBoer, Morrell, Grubb and Marks are current coaching staff of the 14-0 No. 2 Washington Huskies. The viewing party will begin Monday, January 8 at 6 p.m., with championship game kickoff slated for 6:30 p.m. The University will also host an on-campus viewing party in the dining hall for all current USF students.
During his time as USF head coach from 2005-2009, Kalen DeBoer led the Coo to a 67-3 overall record while tabbing three NAIA National Championships. DeBoer and his staff coordinated one the best offenses in the country, while helping guide three athletes to NAIA Player of the Year awards, along with propelling 25 athletes to first team All-American honors.
Morrell led the 1996 team in tackles and was named an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention athlete. DeBoer was inducted into the 2015 USF Hall of Fame followed by Morrell in 2016. The three-time NAIA National Coach of the Year also played for the Cougars alongside Huskies co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach, Chuck Morrell. DeBoer was a four-year letter winner for the Cougars while earning All-American honors following the team's 1996 NAIA National Championship title.
The Washington Huskies will take on the 14-0 No. 1 Michigan Wolverines Monday night in Houston, Texas, in their first national championship appearance since 1991.
