St. Cloud, Minn. - The University of Sioux Falls Women's Basketball team lost 58-49 to St. Cloud State today.
The Huskies came out hot offensively to start the game. SCSU took the opening period 20-7 while shooting 50% from the field and 3-8 from 3. The Cougars struggled to get going as they shot 33% from the field and did not make a 3. In the second period the Cougars turned on the defense but still struggled offensively. USF took the 2nd quarter 12-9 while shooting 23% from the field and not making a 3. St. Cloud also shot 23% from the field and did not make a 3. SCSU took a 29-19 lead into the halftime break.
The Coo continued their momentum from the 2nd quarter in the 3rd. USF won the quarter 16-7 while shooting 46% from the field and making 1 3-pointer. SCSU shot 30% from the field and also only made 1 from behind the 3 point line. The Huskies took control for good in the 4th quarter. They shot 46% from the field and went 1-1 from 3 point range. The Cougars shot 35% from the field and 2-7 from the 3 point line. USF won the rebounding battle 39-33 and had more points in the paint with 24 compared to 18 for SCSU.
LEADERS
The Cougars were led in scoring by Kami Wadsworth who had 16 points. Danielle Minsaas added in 13 and Madison Wuebben chipped in 9 points.Â
Wadsworth also led the team in rebounds with 7. Brecli Honner had 6 and Minsaas and Wuebben both added 5 rebounds.Â
Ayla Brown led USF in assists with 4. Wadsworth and Landree Wilson added 2 assists as well. Brown played a game high 38 minutes.

The Cougars will be back in action on Friday. They will take on MSU Moorhead starting at 5:30pm in the Stewart Center on the campus of USF.
