Numbers Game

  • Three-Point Pressure: Wayne State shoots 37 percent from deep and hits 7.3 threes per game, challenging a USF defense allowing 35.8 percent from three.
  • Control the Glass: USF owns a dominant +10 rebounding margin, while WSC sits at +0.9; second-chance scoring could tilt the matchup.
  • Turnover Tempo: The Wildcats commit just 10.4 turnovers per game, but USF generates 8.3 steals per outing, creating a pivotal battle in pace and possession.
  • Interior Efficiency: WSC shoots nearly 50 percent from the floor, and USF allows 49.2 percent; protecting the rim will be crucial.
  • Balanced Scoring: Both teams bring four double-figure scorers into the game, making each team difficult to scout with multiple options that can hurt you.
  • Lineup Rhythm: USF's bench production continues to rise, and early substitutions could play a key role against a Wayne State team that plays its top six heavy minutes.

Coach's Corner

"Big challenge ahead down at Wayne State. They play extremely hard and really get after you on the defensive end. We will need to handle their pressure, be poised, and execute well to be in a position to have success." — Coach Chris Johnson
