BURNSVILLE, MINN. – Following a successful weekend series at Hawaii Hilo, Mitch Iliff and Jake Ammann of the University of Sioux Falls Baseball team have been named NSIC Top Performers, recognizing their standout performances that helped the Cougars secure a series victory.

Iliff, a force at the plate, showcased elite hitting ability by batting .500 (8-for-16) across four games. He racked up a 1.204 OPS, fueled by a .625 slugging percentage and a .579 on-base percentage. The senior drove in four runs, tallied two doubles, and reached base in nearly 60% of his plate appearances, drawing two walks and getting hit by a pitch while striking out just once. His impact wasn't limited to the batter's box—Iliff also made his presence felt on the base paths, swiping two stolen bases on two attempts. Defensively, he was flawless, recording 11 putouts and one assist without committing an error, maintaining a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

Ammann delivered a dominant performance on the mound, earning a crucial win for the Cougars with a stellar 7.0-inning outing. The right-hander allowed just two earned runs while striking out seven batters and walking only one. He faced 31 batters and effectively minimized damage, keeping Hawaii Hilo's offense in check with a 2.57 ERA for the game. His efficiency and ability to work out of key situations helped secure a 5-2 victory for USF.

With Iliff's offensive firepower and Ammann's strong pitching performance, the Cougars left Hawaii with momentum as they continue non-conference play. Both players will look to build on their success as USF moves forward in the season. For the rest of the top performers, visit the 2025 NSIC Baseball Weekly Release No. 1.
