DENVER, COLO. – Sioux Falls (4-7, 0-0 NSIC) lost its Sunday matchup against MSU Denver with a hard-fought 8-6 loss. The Cougars battled throughout, scoring in five different innings, but couldn't overcome an early deficit.
How It Happened
MSU Denver built an early lead with a four-run third inning, capitalizing on a home run and a fielding error to go up 5-1. USF fought back in the fourth when Ryan Gouldin launched a two-run homer to cut the deficit to 5-3.
After a back-and-forth middle innings, the Cougars inched closer with a run in the eighth and ninth, but MSU Denver added insurance to secure the win.
