USF Men's Golf Wraps Up NSIC Preview

BLUE SPRINGS, MO. – The University of Sioux Falls Men's Golf team competed at the NSIC Preview at Adams Pointe Golf Club, finishing 15th out of 18 teams with a two-round total of 612 (+36). The Cougars battled through challenging course conditions, gaining valuable experience as they continue their spring season.

Tournament Recap

USF opened the tournament with a 299 (+11) in the first round, positioning themselves in a competitive spot heading into the final day. However, the Cougars posted a 313 (+25) in round two, finishing with a combined 612 (+36) to place 15th in a deep field.

While the team faced difficulties maintaining consistency, Mason Weeks recorded a top-20 finish to lead the way.

Mason Weeks delivered another strong performance, finishing tied for 18th at 145 (+1). Weeks fired a first-round 69 (-3) to sit near the top of the leaderboard before closing with a 76 (+4) in round two.

Devon Verhasselt was next on the leaderboard, tying for 75th at 154 (+10), while Jimmy Clark, Cole Harste, and Deven Sehr each finished tied for 86th at 157 (+13).

The Cougars will look to regroup as they prepare for their next tournament at the FHSU Tiger Classic in Hays, Kansas. USF will compete at Smoky Hill Country Club on Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, aiming to build off this performance and continue improving throughout the spring.
