SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls Track & Field and Cross Country programs continue to showcase excellence, as 10 Cougars have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. Tamia Horton, Kamry Lindsey, Emily Swanson, Maddie Swanson, and Kami Wadsworth have earned this years honors for the women while Dawson Davito, Collin Dingsor, Parker Hahn, Benjamin Morrison and Micade Shumway earned honors for the men. Following two All-American performances this season, Emily Swanson has also advanced to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
Commitment to Academic Excellence
The CSC Academic All-District award honors student-athletes who exemplify the balance of academic and athletic success. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.50 GPA while meeting competitive participation criteria, including a top-50 individual performance at the 2024 NCAA Regional Cross Country meet and/or a top-50 regional ranking in a single event during the 2024-25 track & field seasons.
USF's honorees have excelled in rigorous academic programs while meeting the demands of collegiate cross country and track & field, demonstrating the university's commitment to fostering well-rounded student-athletes.
Meet the Honorees
Tamia Horton - Junior | Maplewood, Minn. | Exercise Science
Horton thrived in the 60m dash as well as the 100m dash while becoming a two-time national qualifier this past season. Over the season, she broke three school records while tallying six national provisional marks and four first place finishes.
Kamry Lindsey - Senior | Appleton, Wis. | Psychology, Sociology & Criminal Justice
Lindsey was also a two-time national qualifier this season qualifying in the discus and weight throw. Throughout the season, Lindsey tabbed 11 national provisional marks while adding six event titles.
Emily Swanson– Fifth Year | Odell, Neb. | Masters of Business Administration
Swanson capped off her career as a two-time All-American this season and a four-time All-American overall in the Pentathlon and Heptathlon. Over the 2024-25 season, Swanson broke nine school records while also setting a conference record at the NSIC Indoor Championships and claiming three event titles including a conference title. She was named the NSIC Indoor Field Athlete of the Year, the NSIC Preseason Field Athlete of the Year, and the NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year.
Maddie Swanson– Sophomore | Beatrice, Neb. | Business Administration & Criminal Justice
Swanson found success both on the track and on the cross country course with a top-50 performance at the 2024 NCAA Central Region Cross Country Championships in November. On the track, she eight top-10 finishes and one event title.
Kami Wadsworth– Sophomore | Hayti, S.D. | Elementary Education
Wadsworth, another top-50 performer for the USF Throwers, added 20 top- 10 finishes and four event titles in the javelin and shot put including the NSIC Outdoor Championships Javelin title in May.
Dawson Davito– Fifth Year | North Mankato, Minn. | Media Studies
Davito picked up academic honors with a top-50 performance in the shot put. Throughout the season he added 16 top-10 finishes and one event title in the shot put.
Collin Dingsor– Junior | Watertown, S.D. | History Education & Secondary Education
Dingsor, a member of the indoor 4x400 record breaking team, added one event title in the 4x400 and 14 top-10 finishes during his 2024-25 outing.
Parker Hahn– Junior | Cottage Grove, Minn. | Business Administration & Accounting
Hahn competed in both cross country and track & field for the Cougars, adding five top-10 finishes and two event titles in the 3000 steeplechase.
Benjamin Morrison– Senior | Boseman, Mont. | English & Spanish
Morrison also thrived on both the cross country course and the track with three event titles in the mile, 800m and 4x400 along with 17 top-10 finishes.
Micade Shumway– Senior | Williston, N.D. | Business Administration
Shumway, another two sport competitor for the Cougars, added 17 top-10 finishes and three event titles in the mile, 5000m and 10,000m,
A Tradition of Academic Success
USF Track & Field and Cross Country continues to emphasize academic achievement, with Emily Swanson moving on to the Academic All-America ballot. The squads ability to manage the demands of training, competition, and coursework is a testament to their dedication and work ethic.
