HUDSON, Wis. – In their first collegiate action, an all-freshman lineup impressed at the Maverick/Golden Bear Fall Brawl, finishing third out of 12 teams at Troy Burne Golf Club on September 15-16.
The Cougars combined for rounds of 282 and 287, finishing with a two-day total of 569 (+1). USF placed behind only Winona State (-13) and Concordia-St. Paul (-1) in a strong regional field.

Charlie Hanson made his debut in style, shooting back-to-back rounds of 69 (-2) to finish tied for 2nd at 138 (-4). His 36-hole performance featured seven birdies and an eagle.

Jadan Ford surged in round one with a tournament-best 66 before finishing tied for 5th at 141 (-1).

Ty Lenards showed steady play across both rounds, posting 72 and 70 to tie for 9th at even par.

Luke Ehlers, competing as an individual, added a 68-75 performance for a tie at 13th (+1).

Jaden Solheim (150, +8, T-29th) and Ryan Nutter (154, +12, T-48th) rounded out the lineup and contributed to USF's depth.
Coach's Corner
Head coach Wade Merry praised the way his young squad handled their collegiate debuts.
"I'm extremely proud of how well our six freshmen played in their first collegiate golf tournament. We got great contributions from everyone and I am really pleased with how well we competed."
Course Spotlight
Troy Burne Golf Club, a championship-caliber design by PGA Tour veteran Tom Lehman alongside architects Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry, tested the all-freshman Cougar squad with over 120 bunkers and water hazards on eight holes. USF responded with one of the lowest team scores of the opening round and showed poise throughout the demanding layout.
