The USF women's soccer team (2-13-1, 2-10-1 NSIC) faced NSIC foe Concordia-St. Paul (5-11-0, 4-9-0 NSIC) on Sunday and fell by a score of 3-1.
The Golden Bears were on the attack early as they notched all three of their goals in the first 18 minutes of action. The first goal came in the 10th minute when Emily Eckland deflected a corner kick into the net to give Concordia-St. Paul a 1-0 lead.
In the 15th minute, CU's Alahna Anderson made the score 2-0 with a free kick from 30 yards out that went over the goalkeeper's head. Anderson wasn't done scoring as she added the Golden Bears third and final goal of the day in the 18th minute from a Chloe Moore pass. Concordia-St. Paul took a 3-0 lead into the half.
The Cougars continued to fight in the second half and in the 82nd minute USF's Tia Ferrando scored her third goal of the season off of a Tionne Webb pass. Ferrando ended the match with two shots on goal.
The Cougars were outshot by the Golden Bears 12-8 and also had five corner kicks to the Cougars zero.
In 90 minutes of play, USF's Corrin Cook recorded three saves which brings her season total to 89 saves.
Next, the Cougars will take on Augustana College on Friday, November 1 at the USF Sports Complex. The match is set to begin at 6 p.m.
