The University of Sioux Falls women's tennis team (5-8, 2-5 NSIC) dropped a pair of league matches this weekend to the University of Mary and St. Cloud State by identical 6-3 verdicts.

Both matches were played in Bismarck, N.D.

The highlight of the weekend was the continued excellent play of the Cougars' no. 3 freshmen doubles tandem of Kara Bunkers and Abby Seigenthaler, who won both of their matches to improve to 4-1 in third flight doubles. Bunkers and Seigenthaler defeated SCSU's Gabbie Pumg/Tori Marlton (8-4) and cruised to an 8-2 victory over Anastasia Bruss/Holt, Meredith Holt of U-Mary.

Earning singles victories for USF vs. SCSU were Molly Seigenthaler at No. 4 (6-1, 7-6) and Morgan DeLange at No. 5 (7-6, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8), while Emily Erickson notched a straight sets win versus Marauder Catherine Gibbens at No. 3, 6-3, 6-4. Bunkers earned a No. 6 singles win in the U-Mary match, knocking off Kate O'Connell (6-2, 6-2).

USF will travel to Fargo (N.D.) this weekend for matches against MSU Moorhead and Southwest Minnesota State.
