JOPLIN – The USF Cross Country teams competed in the 2022 NCAA DII Central Region Cross Country Championships today with the men's team placing 8^th out of 30 teams and the women's 9^th out of 35 teams.

"It was a great meet today for both our men's and women's teams," said head coach Doug Petersen. "We were very happy to have the men place eighth in a super competitive field of competition and our women placing their highest team place finish ever at the regional meet!"

The men's team was the second highest placed NSIC team with a total score of 276 and a total time of 2:34:27. The Cougars ran past multiple regionally ranked teams with six runners having career bests.

39^th – David Ecker – 30:35.62

50^th – Micade Shumway – 30:48.39

57^th – Ben Morrison – 30:54.64

59^th – Jakob Hanna – 30:55.59

71^st – Aaron Voigt – 31:12.67

86^th – Caleb Rivera – 31:33.31

99^th – Miles Olofson – 31:48.72

 

The women's team had all seven runners hit career bests today with Khot Juac, Morgan Gehl and Jessica Lutmer having the fastest times ever ran by a USF runner at the regional meet! As a team, the Cougars scored a 264 with a total time of 1:49:50.
