JOPLIN – The USF Cross Country teams competed in the 2022 NCAA DII Central Region Cross Country Championships today with the men's team placing 8th out of 30 teams and the women's 9th out of 35 teams.
"It was a great meet today for both our men's and women's teams," said head coach Doug Petersen. "We were very happy to have the men place eighth in a super competitive field of competition and our women placing their highest team place finish ever at the regional meet!"
The men's team was the second highest placed NSIC team with a total score of 276 and a total time of 2:34:27. The Cougars ran past multiple regionally ranked teams with six runners having career bests.

The women's team had all seven runners hit career bests today with Khot Juac, Morgan Gehl and Jessica Lutmer having the fastest times ever ran by a USF runner at the regional meet! As a team, the Cougars scored a 264 with a total time of 1:49:50.
