SIOUX FALLS – The University of Sioux Falls and head coach Brittany Domino are proud to announce the hiring of Kyle Halfpop as an assistant coach for USF Soccer.

"We are very excited to have Kyle join our staff again," said Coach Domino. "We knew what we needed for this role and Kyle hits all of those marks and then some. He has a great attacking mindset that I think will really balance our staff out as well. Even more importantly, Kyle is a great mentor for the players and someone we know will add to the player's experience while at USF. We look forwarded to getting started."

Halfpop returns to the Coo after spending four seasons as the women's head coach at Minnesota Crookston. While at UMC, he coached 14 NSIC All-Academic student-athletes, two NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence members and one NSIC All-Conference athlete.

Before heading to Crookston, Halfpop was the assistant coach for the Cougars from 2016-2019 where he helped USF increase their wins total each season. Halfpop also helped the Coo finish above their preseason ranking each season he was here. During his time with USF he coached six NSIC All-Conference and 25 NSIC All-Academic student-athletes while helping USF improve both offensively and defensively.

Prior to USF, he coached at Iowa Wesleyan, a DIII in Mount Pleasant, IA where he helped lead their women's program to their first positive result in over three years. Halfpop coached Iowa Wesleyan's first DIII all-conference athlete.

Halfpop also coached at Central College in Pella, Iowa where he was responsible for recruiting student-athletes, providing scouting reports and coaching training sessions. Halfpop helped lead the Dutch to a 44-30-1 mark in his four years with the squad. He also helped Central College finish as runner-up in the conference in 2008. Halfpop assisted in coaching four NSCAA All-Region players, three NSCAA Scholar All-Americans, and 25 all-conference recipients. In addition, Halfpop helped coach the 2010 Iowa Conference Most Valuable Player.

Prior to his coaching career, Halfpop was a Second Team All-West Region athlete at Central College in as well as a three-time First Team All-Iowa Conference player. Halfpop resides in Sioux Falls with his wife, Sarah, and their four children.
