USF Soccer Adds Seven on National Signing Day

SIOUX FALLS – The University of Sioux Falls soccer program, and head coach Brittany Domino, are excited to announce the addition of seven athletes on National Signing Day.

"We have a very talented group of players joining our program as part of the 2023 class. All seven of our signees are outstanding individuals and soccer players. They will add depth to our team in a variety of different positions. We really put a focus with this class on bringing in individuals who can continue to raise the bar on the field as well as off. These seven players will be great representatives of USF soccer."

The members of the 2023 class include: Delani Daubman, Sienna Davis, Mara Nelson, Olivia Opichka, Elise Secrest, Mariah Siem and Kate Stratman.

Delani Daubman, Goalkeeper, Omaha, NE / Westside High School 

Delani joins the USF family from Omaha, Nebraska where she attended Westside High School and played both soccer and basketball. On the soccer field for the Warriors, Daubman was a three year varsity letter winner, an Honorable Mention All-State Goalkeeper as a sophomore and junior, and an NCPA Academic All-State member as a junior. She played in 24 games, during which she made 90 saves and allowed just 23 goals. Daubman also made three penalty kick saves during her time with the Warriors. For club ball, she played for Sporting Nebraska FC, a team that was two time state club finalists. The daughter of Deb and Craig, Delani plans to study Nursing in the fall at USF.

Sienna Davis, Attacking Mid, Omaha, NE / Millard West High School

Sienna joins the Cougars from Omaha, Nebraska where she played soccer for the Wildcats at Millard West. She was a three year varsity letter winner, as well as an All-State Honorable Mention selection in 2021. Davis played club soccer for Gretna Elite Academy ECNL where she is an attacking midfielder. Sienna is the daughter of Marta and Troy Davis, and she enjoys reffing youth soccer back home. She will head to USF in the fall undecided in her course of study.

Mara Nelson, Midfield, Sioux Falls, SD / Brandon Valley High School

Mara joins the Cougars from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She attended Brandon Valley High School and played both soccer and golf for the Lynx. Nelson was a five-time letter winner and two-time varsity captain, leading her team to Metro and State Championships in 2020. Her team was ESD Champions in 2021 and 2022, during which Nelson was also named to the ESD All-Conference Team both years. In 2022, she was also selected to the All-State Team, Academic All-State Team, and Metro Conference Team. Mara scored 10 goals and dished out 12 assists during her time with the Lynx. She played club soccer for Dakota Alliance as a midfielder. The daughter of Sara and Mat Nelson, Mara plans to major in Criminal Justice with hopes to pursue a career in Law.

Olivia Opichka, Midfield, Cottage Grove, MN / Park High School

Olivia comes to USF from Cottage Grove, Minnesota where she attended Park High School and played soccer, lacrosse, and golf for the Wolfpack. Opichka was a three year varsity letter winner in soccer, and a two year varsity letter winner in lacrosse. In 2021, she was a Suburban East All-Conference Honorable Mention selection. The following year, Opichka was named to the All-Conference Team, the team MVP, and to the Section 3AAA Coaches All-Section Academic Team. She played club ball for St. Croix Soccer Club. Olivia is the daughter of Shannon and Jeff, and plans to major in Biology and minor in Chemistry on a Pre-Dental track.

Elise Secrest, Outside Back, Omaha, NE / Beatrice High School

Elise comes to USF from Omaha, Nebraska where she played soccer for the Concordia Senior High Mustangs. Secrest was a varsity captain while leading her team with 14 goals in a single season. Additionally, she was also a two-time All-State Honorable Mention, and was recognized once as a MaxPreps Nebraska Player of the Week as a center back. She played club soccer for the Sporting Nebraska 04/05 ECNL Regional Premier team. Off the field, Secrest was an NCPA Academic All-State member, as well as an Honor Roll student. At USF she plans to double major in both Biology and Chemistry on a Pre-Med track. The daughter of Sarah and Todd Secrest, Elise hopes to one day be a pediatrician.

Mariah Siem, Midfield/Forward, Sioux Falls, SD / Lincoln High School 

A local star, Mariah is joining the Cougars and staying home in Sioux Falls. She played soccer and basketball at Lincoln High School. During her time as a Patriot, Siem was named to the Metro All-Conference Girls Soccer Team four times as well as to the Class AA All-State Girls Soccer Second Team twice and the Class AA All-State Girls Soccer First Team as a senior. Mariah also scored 40 goals for the Patriots and played club soccer for Dakota Alliance Soccer Team. As a junior, Mariah was also named to the Metro All-Conference Girls Basketball Team and was selected as Lincoln High School Miss Basketball. At USF Mariah plans to major in exercise science and minor in psychology.

Kate Stratman, Midfield, Omaha, NE / Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart

Kate joins the Cougars from Omaha, Nebraska where she attended Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart. For the Cardinals she was selected to the Academic All-State Team and competed as an outside midfielder. Stratman played club soccer for Sporting Nebraska FC and is the daughter of Sarah and Dave Stratman. Kate plans to study Exercise Science at USF.
