USF Indoor Track & Field Competes at Mount Marty Open

YANKTON – The USF Track & Field team headed to Yankton, SD this weekend to compete in the Mount Marty Open held at the Ruth Donohoe First Dakota Fieldhouse. 

TRACK EVENTS

·       Emily Swanson advanced into the finals for the women's 60 meter hurdles placing 2nd with a time of 9.25. Close behind was Sierra Stanton who took 5th  with a career best of 9.76.

·        Ben Mandel was USF's highest finisher in the men's 60 meter hurdles with a 3rd place and a time of 8.42. Right behind in 4th place was Aaron Monk with a time of 8.73. Freshmen Cody Lustig and Collin Dingsor finished in 7th and 8th with times of 8.86 and 9.03. 

·       Freshman Tamia Horton finished 2nd in the women's 60 meter dash with a time of 7.93.

·       Emily Swanson was the leading placer for USF in the 200 meter dash, taking 8th with a time of 27.33. Finishing right behind was Myah Roggenbuck in 9th with a time of 27.46. 

·       Sophomore Joseph Donahue placed 10th  in the men's 200 meter dash with a time of 23.60.

·       Denver Decker was the only Cougar to place in the men's 400 meter dash coming in at 7th with a time of 53.15.

·       Gracie Bucher picked up 2nd in the women's 800 meter dash with a time of 2:35.85. Freshman Raina Weigelt finished in 3rd with a career best of 2:39.70.

·       Kade Watson placed 3rd in the men's 800 meter dash with a time of 2:05.52. In 4th was Diego Jaimes with a time of 2:06.05.

·       Emma Thomas advanced into the finals for the women's 1000 meter run placing 2nd with a time of 3:24.68.

·       Nicholas Muller finished 7th in the men's 1000 meter run with a time of 2:50.53. 

·      Kayleigh Whipps placed 1st in the women's 3000 meter with a time of 11:12.60.

·      Kade Bullion placed 4th in the men's 3000 meter with a time of 9:20.49.

·       The Cougars swept places 3-6 in the women's 1 mile run. Mallory Salazar took 3rd with a time of 5:42.81. In 4th was Ella Kolb with a time of 5:47.30. Right behind was Kenadie Fick in 5th with a time of 5:49.30, while Eva Studt finished 6th with a time of 5:53.79. 

·     Isaac Dold was USF's top finisher in the men's 1 mile run with a time of 4:58.23 taking 3rd place. Ashton Schnaser took 6th with a time of 5:11.29, who;e Michea; Cessna picked up 8th with a time of 5:37.25. 

·       USF women's 4x400 meter relay team (Bucher, Thomas, Weigelt, and Studt) took 5th with a time of 4:36.88. 

·       USF men's 4x400 meter relay team (Mandel, Lustig, Dingsor, and Decker) took 3rd with a time of 3:32.05.

FIELD EVENTS

·       Kamry Lindsey picked up a 1st place finish in the women's weight throw with a career best throw of 15.75 meters. Mackenzie Bengtson took 2nd with a throw of 15.09 meters. In 3rd was Nicole Flynn with another career best throw of 14.57 meters. Also with a career best throw was Kayla VanOsdel at 13.96 meters and a 5th place finish.

·       Jaymeson Wolkow led the men in the weight throw with a distance of 14.78 meters and a 4th place finish. Dawson Davito placed 6th with a career best throw of 14.13 meters. In 8th place was Marek Rex with a throw of 13.92 meters, tying his career best.

·       Tyler Hiatt placed 1st in the men's shot put with a throw of 16.84 meters. In 4th was Dawson Davito with a throw of 13.70 meters. Jaymeson Wolkow took 9th place with a throw of 12.61 meters.

·       Kenna Comstock was USF's leading pole vaulter with a height of 3.42 meters and a 2nd place finish. Greta Snaza took 4th with a height of 2.72 meters. Right behind was MaKenzie Adams with a height of 2.57 meters in 5th place. 

·       Samuel Olson placed 4th in the men's pole vault with a height of 3.65 meters. Also with a height of 3.65 meters, Ean Minnaert took 5th.

·       Dalton Goodwin jumped for 13.48 meters in the triple jump today placing 2nd. In the men's long jump Goodwin took 7th after jumping 5.90 meters. 

·       Natalie Meyers was the Cougars top finisher in the women's long jump taking 3rd with a jump of 5.05 meters. Abbi Webb finished right behind in 4th with a jump of 5.04. In 7th was Emily Swanson with a jump of 4.79 meters. Avery Bartunek took 8th with a jump of 4.87 meters. 

·       Avery Bartunek took 3rd in the women's triple jump with 10.44 meters.
