SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls track & field teams delivered a productive showing, highlighted by multiple event wins, personal-best performances, and nationally ranked marks across both track and field events.
The Cougars were led by standout performances from Tamia Horton, Jensen Hyronimus, and Delanie Van Driel. Horton captured the women's 100 meters title and added a runner-up finish in the 200 meters, while Hyronimus posted a personal-best to win the men's 400 meters. In the field events, Van Driel led the way with a shot put title and a runner-up finish in the discus with a personal-best mark that ranks among the top 25 in Division II.
Key Performances
Horton continued her strong outdoor season with a first-place finish in the women's 100 meters in 11.62 and followed with a second-place finish in the 200 meters at 24.77. On the men's side, Carter Friske turned in a strong sprint double, placing second in the 100 meters at 10.95 and third in the 200 meters with a personal-best 22.61.
Hyronimus delivered one of the top performances on the track, winning the men's 400 meters in a personal-best 49.57. Piper Hanson added a runner-up finish in the women's 400 meters with a personal-best 59.15 and placed third in the 100-meter hurdles final after running a national top-100 mark in the prelims.
In the field events, Van Driel secured the shot put title at 13.52m and added a second-place finish in the discus with a personal-best 47.35m that ranks No. 24 in Division II. Tobi Peterson supported that effort with a runner-up finish in the shot put. Tatum Godinez added a second place finish in the javelin and sixth in the high jump with a season-best clearance.
