MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. - USF Men's Wrestling competed in the Augsburg Invite today and are coming home with three individual champions and 11 placewinners.

Pauly Garcia took the top spot in the Freshman 125-pound weight class going 4-0 on the day. Garcia defeated Diego Salgado of Concordia Moorhead by a 20-4 tech. fall in the opening round followed by a 10-8 decision over Dawson Schmit of Upper Iowa. During the semifinal match, Garcia defeated Austin Laudenbach of Augsburg by a 9-3 decision to head to the championship match. He then went on to defeat Jackson Heaston of Upper Iowa by an 8-3 decision. Garcia is 4-2 on the year.

Beau Klingensmith picked up his second title of the season in the gold 133-pound bracket going 3-0 on the day with a 19-4 tech. fall over Thomas Oswald of Augsburg and a 1:53 pin over Isaac Ayers of Luther. Klingensmith sealed the deal with a 10-3 decision over Augsburg's Wyatt Kaczrowski and currently sits 9-1 on the season.

Ashtin Johnson claimed the title in the Freshman 174-pound weight class over teammate Timothy Lacina. Johnson opened the day with a 15-0 tech. fall over Braike Jones of Nebraska Wesleyan and a 7-3 decision over Ben Peterson of Luther before defeating Lacina by a 3:48 pin. Johnson is 6-3 on the season.

The Cougars will be back in action when they host Northern State for their inaugural DII home opener on Friday, December 1 at 7pm.

Freshman 165 - Lincoln Fink finished 3rd at 2-1 (5-4 on the season)

Freshman 174 - Timothy Lacina finished 2nd at 2-1 (5-4 on the season)

Freshman 194 - Daevon Vereen finished 2nd at 2-1 (7-3 on the season)

Freshman 285 - Rocky Wiedman Jr. finished 4th at 2-2 (3-3 on the season)

Gold 157 - Jagger Tyler finished 4th at 2-2 (10-2 on the season)

Gold 197 - Isaiah Laguna finished 5th at 2-2 (2-4 on the season)
