ROCHESTER, MINN. – Sioux Falls Men's Wrestling opened their inaugural Division II season at the Yellowjacket Open hosted by Rochester Community and Technical College. The Cougars had two champions in Beau Klingensmith and Jagger Tyler along with two more place winners with Beau Beavers at 2nd and Jayden Coulter taking 6th.

Tyler opened the day with the first Division II win in program history by a 14-5 major decision after defeating Caleb Durr of Augustana University. Tyler finished the day with a 17-2 tech. fall, a 4-3 sudden victory and a 6-5 decision to claim the programs first Division II championship at 157-pounds.

Klingensmith recorded the programs first ranked win over #8 Caleb Meekins of St. Cloud State University in the opening round today. Klingensmith finished the day 3-0 with a pin in 3:19 during round two and a 0:59 pin in round three to claim the 133-pound title.

Beavers placed second in the 141-pound weight bracket with a 1:50 pin over Nick Natarcola of Iowa Central before falling in the final match to St. Cloud State's Alyeus Craig, finishing 1-1 on the day.

Coulter went 3-2 at 165-pounds with a 1:37 pin, a 1:19 pin and a19-2 tech. fall to round out the Cougars place winners.

Sioux Falls will be back in action next weekend when they head to Collegeville, Minnesota to partake in the SJU Round Robin hosted by Saint John's University.
