SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - USF Men's Wrestling fell to No. 11 Northern State, 42-6, this evening with wins coming from Pauly Garcia and Isaiah Laguna. Tonights dual marked the return of Cougar Wrestling and their first NSIC and NCAA Division II matchup.
Starting the night at 125-pounds, Pauly Garcia defeated Northerns Landen Fischer by a 4-1 decision to move to 6-2 on the year and 1-0 against NSIC opponents.
Beau Klingensmith fell to Jason Henschel at 133-pounds in a 2:01 pin.
At 141-pounds, Braydon Mogle of NSU defeated Beau Beavers by a 15-4 major decision.
Cooper Sanders fell to #1 Wyatt Turnquist in a 15-0 tech. fall at 149-pounds.
Jagger Tyler fell to #7 Devin Bahr in a 16-1 tech. fall at 157-pounds.
Jayden Coulter fell to Chase Bloomquist in a 17-1 tech. fall at 165-pounds.
Ashtin Johnson fell to Sam Kruger in a 16-0 tech. fall at 174-pounds.
At 184-pounds, Daevon Vereen was defeated by #12 Treyton Cacek in a 1:58 pin.
Isaiah Laguna went the distance at 197-pounds to defeat Ryan Hirschkorn by a 6-2 decision and advances to 2-4 on the year.
Logan Huckfelt was pinned by Nathan Schauer in 3:24 at 285-pounds to close out the night.
