BROOKINGS - The Cougars competed at the SDSU Holiday Invitational & Multi to open their Indoor Track season and saw several memorable and record breaking performances.

Highlights:

- Emily Swanson won the Women's Pentathlon along with three events within it; the High Jump, Shot Put, and 800 Meter Run. Her 3,748 points is the second best in Cougar history, only to her own 3,771 early this calendar year.
- Kamry Lindsey threw 15.96m in the Weight Throw and took the Cougars 8th all-time spot.
- Tyler Hiatt won the Men's Shot Put with a 16.27m toss and claimed the 4th spot in the USF record books. He also broke the school record (his own) for the Men's Weight Throw with an 18.73m toss while taking 2nd.
- Ben Mandel tied the 6th best time in USF history in the 60m Hurdles at 8.34s. During the same event Collin Dingsor claimed the new 10th spot in the record book with a 8.39s finish.
- In the Women's 60m Hurdles Kendall Anderson finished in 9.24 seconds which is the 9th fastest in USF history.
- Tamia Horton nearly claimed the top spot in the event and USF's history books during the 60m Dash, her 7.61 seconds place her 2nd in the event - and history book. The time also beats her personal best and prior #2 on the USF chart by .08 seconds.
- Mackenzie Everson placed 2nd in the 400m dash in 1:00.15.
