NEW ORLEANS – All-Region honorees for the 2023 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Two student student-athletes from the University of Sioux Falls Track and Field team received this prestigious honor; Khot Juac and Jessica Lutmer.Â
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season.
Khot Juac, a sophomore, was named to the All-Region Team for the 3000 meter run. Juac set a new USF school record in the event at the 2023 SDSU Indoor Classic Meet in February with a time of 9:52.06 and a 5th place finish. At the 2023 NSIC Indoor Championship Meet, Juac placed 2nd overall in the women's 3000 meter run with a time of 9:55.5, just a few seconds shy of her career best and the school record she set. In the 1000 meter run, Juac boasts the 2nd best time in USF indoor T&F history with a career best 2:56.22, which she set at the 2023 SDSU Last Chance Meet. Juac sits at 3rd in mile run in the USF record books with a time of 4:56.89, a career best mark she set at the 2023 NSIC Indoor Championship Meet.Â
Jessica Lutmer, a sophomore, was also named to the All-Region Team for the 3000 meter run. Lutmer recorded a career best time of 9:58.31 at the 2023 NSIC Indoor Championship Meet with a 3rd place finish. Lutmer's time also placed her in 2nd in the USF record books. Also at the NSIC meet Lutmer set a new career best in the 5000 meter run with a time of 17:42.84, putting her at 2nd all time for USF indoor T&F. Lutmer holds the 5th best mile time in USF history with a time of 5:09.13, a career best mark set at the 2023 SDSU Last Chance Meet.
