Cougars Track & Field Competes in California

Ecker breaks school record in steeplechase

AZUSA/LOS ANGELES– Several members of the USF Track & Field team traveled to two different cities in California for meets this week. The first city was Los Angeles for the Cal State LA Twilight Meet. The Cougars also were represented at Azusa Pacific University for Day 1 of the Bryan Clay Invitational. Just a few athletes raced today, with many more set to compete tomorrow.

Bryan Clay Invitational Day 1
·  David Ecker ran a career best 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 8:55.86 while breaking the USF school record by 18 seconds. Ecker currently sits 6th in the nation with his record high.

Cal State LA Twilight Meet
·   Aaron Voigt placed 2nd in the men's 1500 meter run with a career best time of 4:05.82.
·   Annika Aho placed 9th in the women's 400 meter race with a career best time of 1:00.21.

UP NEXT
The Cougars in California will be back in action tomorrow in Azusa to compete in Day 2 of the Bryan Clay Invitational. The USF throwers will also be competing tomorrow in Kearney, Nebraska at the UNK Loper Invitational.
