SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sioux Falls volleyball's head coach Dan Mathews has announced the signing of Kylee Horner and Molley Minnema to the 2023 program.

Kylee Horner, Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist, Saint Peter, Minn. / Saint Peter High School

Kylee comes to USF from Saint Peter, Minnesota where she played volleyball and softball for the Saint Peter Saints. Horner was a two-time Big South Conference all-conference athlete as well as honorable mention athlete and a two-time KEYC Athlete of the Week. She recorded 807 career kills for the Saints along with 317 digs, 152 aces and 76 blocks. Horner also plays for the M1 Volleyball Club. She is the daughter of Kim and Corey Horner and plans to major in Biology on a Pre-Vet track in the fall.

"Aside from being a solid athlete and accomplished volleyball player, Kylee is absolutely the right kind of person for our team culture. Her energy is overtly positive, her enthusiasm for being a great teammate is visibly abundant, and she is simply stoked about the game of volleyball. Players like that form the bedrock of a successful program."

Molly Minnema, Middle Blocker, Minneapolis, Minn. / Patrick Henry High School

Molly comes to USF following a record breaking career at Patrick Henry High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Minnema was a part of the volleyball, cross country, basketball and softball programs for the Patriots and looks to continue her success with the Cougars. She is a five-time Minneapolis City All-Conference athlete as well as a three-time MNHSL All-Breakdown honoree. Minnema was also named to the Breakdown Elite 35 Underclassmen team twice as well as the Breakdown Top75 Upperclassmen team. She hold three school records for the Patriots in assists, blocks and aces and sits second all-time in kills. Minnema set a Section 4A season record in aces during her 2019-20 campaign and has been recognized as an AAU Academic All-American. She is a nine-time letter recipient throughout her high school career and was a key member of the Minnesota Select Volleyball Club. Molly is the daughter of Lisa and Mike Minnema and looks to pursue a degree in exercise science in hopes of becoming a physical therapist or athletic trainer.

"Molly is a complete volleyball player. Her impressive versatility will bring a valuable dynamic to our gym. Although she will specialize as a middle blocker at USF, she excelled at setter and pin hitter in club and high school. Molly aligns with our philosophy of recruiting well-rounded and multi-skilled volleyball players who understand the whole game."
