SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The (RV) Sioux Falls Cougars (8-3, 7-3 NSIC) capped off senior day with a commanding 41-14 win over Southwest Minnesota State (0-11, 0-10 NSIC).
From the start, the Cougars controlled the game, showcasing a balanced offensive attack and a stifling defense. Sioux Falls racked up an impressive 448 total yards of offense, including 268-yards on the ground.
OFFENSIVE FIREPOWER
Quarterback Camden Dean shined, throwing for 123-yards and two touchdowns while adding a rushing score of his own. Running back Carlson Tann III led the rushing attack with 125-yards on 12 carries, including a game-breaking 52-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Receiver Christian Janis contributed a 50-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter, highlighting a dynamic passing game.
DEFENSIVE DOMINANCE
Sioux Falls' defense held the Mustangs to just 172-yards of total offense. Defensive standouts included Dawson Raabe, who recorded a sack and forced fumble, and Mouhamed Diawara, who added another sack for nine yards. The unit also tallied nine pass breakups, stifling SMSU's aerial attack.
SPECIAL TEAMS EXCELLENCE
Kicker Nick Hernandez was perfect on the day, converting all five extra points and adding field goals from 23 and 30 yards.
Punter Scott Dickson recorded four punts on the day for 160-yards with a long of 52-yards along with one inside the 20.
