BURNSVILLE, MINN. - The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced
Emily Swanson as this weeks NSIC Women's Field Athlete of the Week today.
Emily Swanson, a fifth-year multis athlete from Odell, Nebraska, earned this weeks honor after an impressive performance at the NDSU Dakota Alumni Classic. Representing Sioux Falls, Swanson finished second in the pentathlon with a total of 3,765 points, showcasing her strength and consistency across events. In just her first meet of the indoor season, she set NCAA provisional qualifying marks in both the pentathlon and the high jump, signaling a strong start to her campaign. Swanson's performance not only leads the NSIC but also places her fourth nationally, solidifying her as a top contender in the field events this season.
The Cougars will be back in action after the new year when they head to Yankton, South Dakota to compete in the Mount Marty Opener on January 11th.Â
