SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - USF Men's Wrestling fell to Southwest Minnesota State, 30-20, tonight in their final dual of the season. The Cougars finished the regular season 2-12 on the year and 0-9 in NSIC settings.
At 133-pounds, No. 14 Beau Klingensmith defeated Chase Murphy in a 5:46, 19-4 tech fall to advance to 15-6 on the season and 5-4 against NSIC opponents.
Beau Beavers picked up a big 0:51 pin over Hunter Pfantz to finish the regular season 8-10 overall and 3-5 in NSIC matchups.
Cooper Sanders fell to Luke Peterson at 149-pounds in a 2:47, 17-2 tech fall. Sanders sits 7-15 on the year and 0-8 against NSIC opponents.
At 157-pounds, Jagger Tyler fell in a close 5-1 decision in the last 2-seconds of the match. Tyler now sits 14-11 over and 0-8 in NSIC matchups.
Lincoln Fink picked up the final win of the night for the Cougars with a 6-4 decision over Alex Ibanez to advance to 9-14 on the season and 1-7 against NSIC opponents.
At 174-pounds, Ashtin Johnson fell to Lucas Hodges in a 2:11 fall. Johnson is now 8-14 overall and 1-8 in NSIC matchups.
At 184-pounds, Timothy Lacina went the distance but fell in a 19-4 tech fall to Adam Sylvester. to move to 5-14 overall and 0-6 against NSIC opponents.
Isaiah Laguna wrapped up the night falling to No. 3 Caden Steffen in a 4:10, 23-4 tech fall. Laguna is now 6-11 overall and 1-6 in NSIC matchups.
The Cougars hit the road March 2 to compete in the NCAA Regional Tournament at All-Seasons Arena in Minot, N.D.
