INDIANAPOLIS – Earlier today the NCAA announced the participants for the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships with three Cougars selected.
Emily Swanson continues her great season with championship entries in both the Women's Pentathlon and Women's High Jump. Her school record 3841 points ranks her 7
th among her competitors in the event and one of only three representatives from the NSIC. Swanson's jump at the Maverick Premier #1 two weeks ago gets her into the final event slot for the High Jump. The 1.72 meter mark was a meet record and tied her with three other participants in the National Championships. Swanson will be the NSIC's lone representative in the High Jump.
Khot Juac heads to her second National Championship of this academic year with her first coming in the Cross Country National Championships where she took 5
th. This championship trip will feature Khot in the Women's Mile Run. She ranks 12
th in the event with a time of 4:47.09. That time was enough to give her 2nd place at the NSIC Championships. Khot will be one of three NSIC representatives in the event.
Tyler Hiatt heads to Kansas ranked 6
th in the Men's Shot Put behind his 17.87 meter toss from the NSIC Championships. Hiatt won the Shot Put at the NSIC Championships while also setting the school record in the event, a record he himself set earlier this year. Last year's NSIC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year increased his distance by over two meters from his 4
th place performance at the NSIC Indoor Championships last year. Hiatt will be the NSIC's only representative in the event.
The championships will be held March 8-9 in Pittsburg, Kansas at the Robert W. Plaster Center. Pittsburg State University and Explore Crawford County will serve as co-hosts of the championships. The championships will be streamed live on www.NCAA.com.
