Cougars claim 14 event titles at Red Raider Open over the weekend

ORANGE CITY, IA – The USF Track & Field team put together some great performances over the weekend.
 
The Cougars won 14 events this weekend with only one repeat athlete among them. The overall team effort saw quite a few high placing performances as well. A couple events even saw multiple Cougars in the top 8:
 
Weekend winners
-Morgan Gehl in the 800m run (2:20.76)
-Annika Aho in the 1500m run (4:50.94)
-Ella Kolb in the 10000m run (40:47.01)
-Kendall Anderson in the 100m hurdles (14.95)
-The 4x800 relay team of Juac, Gehl, Weigelt, and McCone (10:02.55)
-Emily Swanson in the High Jump (1.68m)
-McKenna Comstock in the Pole Vault (3.65m)
-Kamry Lindsey in the Shot Put with a 14.05m toss
-Kami Wadsworth in the Javelin Throw (37.34m)
-Caleb Rivera in the 800m (1:55.28)
-Dylan Saur in the 10000m run (36:27.64)
-Kade Bullion in the 3000m Steeplechase (9:56.17)
-In the 4x800m relay the team of Walu, Olofson, Morrison, and Rivera in 7:56.20
-Tyler Hiatt with a 16.86m throw in the Shot Put
 
Notable results:
-Tamia Horton placed 2nd in the 100m dash in 12.13  while Emily Swanson took 6th (12.50) and Grace Gioffredi took 8th (12.63)
-Tamia Horton also took 5th in the 200m dash (26.19)
-In the 400m dash, Mackenzie Everson and Paige Haack went 4 and 6 at times of 59,97 and 1:01.39 respectively.
-Sierra Stanton took 7th in the 400m hurdles (1:13.36)
-The 4x100m relay team of Gioffredi, Wilson, Haack, and Horton took 2nd in 49.05
-The 4x800 relay team of Aho, Rustad, Salazar, and Thomas took 2nd in 10:08.22
-Peyton Hanson took 2nd Pole Vault at 3.25m and MaKenzie Adams took 5th at 2.50m
-Kami Wadsworth takes 2nd and Kayla Van Osdel takes 4th in the Shot Put (13.54m and 12.47m)
-In the Discus throw the Cougars took half of the top 7 - Kamry Lindsey (2nd – 49.20m), Delanie Van Driel (4th - 41.11m), Kami Wadsworth (5th – 40.66m), and Raygen Diede (7th – 38.18m)
-Kamry Lindsey placed 2nd in the Hammer Throw (48.72m)
-Emily Swanson takes 7th in the Javelin Throw (32.40m)
-Tierney Faulk takes 2nd in the Heptathlon with 3556 points (event wins in the 200m, 800m, and Long Jump
-Ben Morrison takes 2nd in the 1500m run (3:58.85)
-Josiah Schroeder goes 4th in the 5000m run at 16:11.65
-3 Cougars placed in the 110m hurdles: Collin Dingsor (2nd – 15.40), Jonny Cheney (4th – 16.15m), and Ben Mandel (6th – 17.54m)
-In the 400m Jonny Cheney took  2nd (56.24) and Collin Dingsor took 4th (57.44)
-The 4x100m relay team of Mandel, Cheney, Dingsor, and Decker took 2nd (44.27)
-The 'B' and 'C' 4x800m relay teams finished 4th and 5th (8:39.36 & 8:59.34) (B – Steffensmeier, Morke, Hahn, Matzner) (C – Wolday, Bullion, Buta, Cessna)
-Chase Snyder and Andrew Edwards took 3rd and 4th in the Shot Put (15.93m & 14.78m)
-In the Discus Throw, Tyler Hiatt and Chase Snyder went 2 and 3 (48.87m & 48.71m)
-3 Cougars went in the top 6 in the Hammer Throw: Tyler Hiatt (2nd – 52.35m), Marek Rex (4th – 48.41m), and Adnrew Edwards (6th – 46.95m)
-Denver Decker took 2nd in the Javelin Throw (49.96m) as Marek Rex took 6th (44.32m)
