Emily Swanson continues setting records as Track & Field finishes another meet in Mankato

MANKATO, MN – The USF Track & Field team competed in the second meet in Mankato this week, today. Emily Swanson set two more records in her stellar 2024 campaign.
 
The Cougars put together another great meet at the Maverick Open #2 with their second visit to Mankato this week. Emily Swanson continued her season of record setting performance as she set new marks in the 100m Hurdles at 13.99 seconds and the High Jump at 5' 8". The Women's team placed second with 187 points and the Men's team took 2nd with 118 points, both were only behind host Mankato.
 
Event winners:
-Mackenzie Everson cleared the finish line with nearly a 4 second lead on the field in the 400m Hurdles (1:07.38)
-Emily Swanson's record breaking High Jump mark of 1.73m also gave her the event win
-The Long Jump win went to Emily Swanson as well with a 5.88m mark
-Ella Steussy took the Triple Jump title with a mark of 11.28m
-Kayla VanOsdel cleared 14m in the Shot Put for the win (14.16m)
-Olivia Baumberger won the Javelin Throw with a 41.22m launch that netted a provisional mark
-Denver Decker won the Javelin Throw at 55.89m
  
Other top USF results
-In the 100m Dash Grace Gioffredi took 3rd (12.63) while Ellie Decker took 7th (13.93)
-Tamia Horton placed 3rd in the 200m Dash with a time of 25.01
-Eva Studt finished 5th in the 1500m Run with a time of 5:22.66
-In the 100m Hurdles Emily Swanson took 2nd (13.99) and Kendall Anderson finished 4th (14.91)
-Sierra Stanton took 3rd in the 400m Hurdles (1:11.17)
-Abbi Webb posted a 1.65m mark for 2nd in the High Jump as Dani Minsaas finished at 1.60m for 5th
-Two Cougars placed in the Pole Vault- McKenna Comstock in 2nd (3.42m) and Peyton Hanson in 8th (3.27m)
-Abbi Webb took 5th in the Long Jump at 5.75m
-Three additional Cougars placed in the Triple Jump: Avery Bartunek in 3rd (10.85m), Abbi Webb in 4th (10.69m), and Dani Minsaas in 5th (10.69)
-The Cougars also placed three more in the Shot Put: Kami Wadsworth in 3rd at 13.34m, Nicole Flynn in 5th at 12.46m, and Delanie VanDriel in 8th at 11.94m
-Kamry Lindsey and Nicole Flynn placed in the Discus Throw- 2nd (26.45m) and 5th (44.84m) respectively
-The Hammer Throw saw four Cougars in the top 8: Kamry Lindsey (3rd – 50.06m), Kayla VanOsdel (40.96m), Shelby Svien (6th – 40.65m), Delanie VanDriel (7th – 40.51m)
-The Javelin Throw featured 3 additional Cougars: Kami Wadsworth in 2nd at 37.49m, Davis Guetterman in 5th at 28.94m, and Sierra Stanton in 8th at 27.23m
-Carter Friske and Collin Dingsor went 3 and 4 in the 200m Dash (22.80 and 22.91)
-Carter Friske also placed 7th in the 400m Dash at 53.80
-In the 800m Run Mikele Walu took 3rd (1:59.84) and Ofbeka Morke took 5th (2:02.39)
-Three Cougars placed in the top 8 of the 1500m Run: Jace Cofer in 5th (4:24.28), Michael Cessna in 7th (4:44.23), and Guta Buta in 8th (4:53.39)
-In the 110m Hurdles Ben Mandel took 4th (14.98), Collin Dingsor took 5th in 15.24, and Jonny Cheney placed 8th (16.05)
-Ben Mandel finished the 400m Hurdles in 58.56 for 2nd place
-Jonny Cheney took 5th in the High Jump at 1.78m
-Matthew Agyeman and Jonny Cheney went 6 and 7 in the Long Jump with marks of 6.45m and 6.42m
-In the Triple Jump, Jay Rhodes got 4th on a 11.96m jump
-Chase Snyder landed a 15.75m toss in the Shot Put to take 3rd
-In the Discus Throw Tyler Hiatt took 2nd with a 50.48m toss and Chase Snyder got 4th at 47.94m
-The Hammer Throw saw Tyler Hiatt get 2nd with a 53.86m toss,  Marek Rex get 5th on a 49.99m throw, and Andrew Edwards place 7th at 47.28m
-Marek Rex took 2nd in the Javelin Throw at 41.39m
