Miller and Tindall Named Players to Watch for USF Soccer

8/13/2024 12:19:00 PM

BURNSVILLE, MINN. – The NSIC announced their 2024 Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll and Players to Watch today. USF Soccer had two athletes named as Players to Watch. Sarah Miller was named Offensive Player to Watch and Alivia Tindall was tabbed as Defensive Player to Watch.

"Our coaching staff is very excited for this year's team," said head coach Brittany Domino. "We had a very productive spring season where the team showed tremendous growth as a group. We added three transfers in the off-season and will be bringing in a large freshmen class. We think the experience this group got this spring along with the new talent will really help push our program forward."

Sarah Miller led USF in their attack last year. She accounted for 16 shots, 4 goals, and 8 points while playing in 17 matches. Coach Domino had this to say about her forward, "Sarah is a very creative attacking player that has been a consistent player in our front line over the last several years. She can be a threat both on and off the ball for our offense. We are excited about the pieces we have added to our attacking group for this season that will only allow Sarah to be more dangerous."

Alivia Tindall was a stalwart for the USF defense in the 2023-24 season. She started all 17 matches and accumulated 1,488 minutes of game time. She anchored a defense that had an opponent shots percentage of .096 and a shot on goal percentage of 0.552. "Alivia has been a consistent starter in our backline for the last two seasons and played a major role for our team during that time. Alivia is a terrific 1v1 defender that also has a large role in initiating attacks out of the back for our team. She has really stepped into a leadership role during the off-season and we are looking forward to seeing her influence on our team this fall," stated Domino.

USF Soccer gets their 2024-25 season started on September 6 as they host Nebraska Kearney at Bob Young Field starting at 7:00PM. Then they host Lincoln University of Missouri on Sunday September 8. This match will begin at 11:00AM at Bob Young Field. Matches being played on the 6th and 8th are a part of the USF Fall Brawl.
