Sioux Falls Track & Field Continues Strong Indoor Season with Stellar Performances in Mankato

MANKATO, MINN. - The University of Sioux Falls Track & Field team put together a strong performance at the Mark Schuck Open & Multi, facing off against top competition in the region. The Cougars turned in multiple top finishes, personal bests, and standout field event performances, continuing their momentum in the indoor season. 

Women's Highlights 

  • Tamia Horton – Horton showcased her speed in the 60m finals, finishing fourth overall with a time of 7.69 seconds. 

  • Morgan Gehl – Gehl delivered an impressive time of 2:18.14 in the 800m, earning a fourth-place finish. 

  • Maddie Swanson – Swanson continued to impress in the mile, taking fourth place with a time of 5:10.32. 

  • Abbi Webb – Webb cleared 1.61m (5-03.25) in the high jump, securing a fifth-place finish. 

  • McKenna Comstock – Comstock cleared 3.61m (11-10.00) in the pole vault, securing a fifth-place finish. 

  • Kayla Van Osdel – Van Osdel secured second place in the shot put, throwing 13.05m (42-09.75) for a strong podium finish. 

  • Delanie Van Driel – Van Driel put up a solid mark of 12.90m (42-04.00) to earn fourth place in the event. 

  • Kamry Lindsey – Lindsey dominated the weight throw, taking first place with a mark of 18.21m (59-09.00) and eclipsing the National Provisional Standards. 

Men's Highlights 

  • Tyler Hiatt – Hiatt delivered a dominant performance, securing first place in the shot put with an 18.05m throw, which surpassed the National Provisional mark. 

  • Kade Bullion – Bullion put together an impressive race in the 5K, finishing fourth with a time of 15:40.94. 

  • Brandon Stark – Stark earned a podium finish, taking third place in the 600m with a time of 1:22.96. 

  • Andrew Edwards – Edwards put up a solid performance in the weight throw, launching 16.95m to finish fifth. 

  • Jonny Cheney – Cheney had an outstanding multi-event showing, placing third overall in the heptathlon with a total of 4,693 points.
