SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – USF Men's Wrestling headed down the street to take on NSIC foe #8/10 Augustana in their final dual of the 2024-25 season. The Cougars fell to the Vikings 27-6 and move to 6-11 on the season and 1-8 in NSIC matchups.

Jaxton Packer opened the night against #3 Jaxson Rohman at 125-pounds falling in a 2:48, 19-4 tech fall. Packer moves to 11-11 on the year, 2-7 in duals and 0-7 in NSIC matchups. 

At 133-pounds, #11/13 Beau Klingensmith defeated Braiden Kort in an 8-4 decision. After getting down 3-0 in the first, Klingensmith responded in the second with a takedown and a 4-point nearfall to take a 7-3 lead before adding an escape point in the third. Klingensmith advances to 14-2 on the season, 11-1 in duals and 5-1 against NSIC opponents. 

At 141-pounds, Calvin Empkey fell to Alex Mentzer in a 13-0 major decision. Empkey moves to 3-6 on the year, 1-3 in duals and 1-3against NSIC opponents. 

Lane Fink took on #2/8 Cael Larson at 149-pounds falling in a 4:36, 19-4 tech fall. Lane moves to 11-14 on the season, 2-11 in duals and 0-5 against NSIC opponents. 

Lincoln Fink picked up the second Cougar win of the night along with his first NSIC win of the year with a big 16-12 decision over #6/12 Connor Simmonds at 157-pounds. After falling behind 10-0, Lincoln closed the first period with a reversal along with three nearfall points to finish the first down 10-5. Following an escape and a takedown to start the second, Lincoln entered the final period down 11-9 before adding a takedown and a 4-point nearfall to secure the match 16-12. Lincoln moves to 13-16 on the year, 4-12 in duals and 1-6 in NSIC matchups. 

At 165-pounds, Cooper Sanders fell to #19 Payton Handevidt in a 12-4 major decision moving to advance to 16-13 on the year, 7-10 in dual settings and 2-7 against NSIC opponents. 

Grant Moraski fell to Josh Wagener at 174-pounds in a 2:17 pin moving to 10-13 on the year, 6-7 in dual matchups and 1-6 in NSIC matches. 

At 184-pounds, Daevon Vereen fell to #11/13 Cade Mueller in a 5:00, 18-1 tech fall to move to 11-8 on the season, 6-6 in dual settings and 2-4 against NSIC opponents. 

Stetson Davis fell to #4 Max Ramberg at 197-pounds in a 3:00, 22-5 tech fall. Davis moves to 5-17 on the year, 1-14 in duals and 0-7 in NSIC matches. 

Isaiah Laguna closed out the night against Max Balow at 285-pounds falling in a last minute 6-1 decision moving to 14-11 on the year, 7-9 in dual matchups and 3-5 against NSIC opponents.
