USF Track & Field sets multiple national provisional marks, school records and PR's at the SDSU Last Chance Meet

BROOKINGS, S.D. - The University of Sioux Falls Track & Field team had a strong showing at the SDSU Last Chance Meet with the Cougars recording six national provisional marks and three school records. Emily Swanson broke the 60mH school record, while Tamia Horton beat her own record in the 60m Dash. Denver Decker, Colin Dingsor, Brandon Stark, and Jonny Cheney broke the record in the Men's 4x400m relay.  

Women's Highlights 

  • Tamia Horton – Horton finished second in the 60m dash finals, with a school record time of 7.47 in the prelims and recorded a national provisional mark. Horton now sits 19th in the country in the 60m dash. 

  • Kendall Anderson – Anderson finished fourth in the 60m hurdles with a PR breaking time of 8.69 and recorded a national provisional mark. She also finished first in the 200m with a time of 25.87. Anderson now sits 34th in the country in the 60m hurdles. 

  • Emily Swanson – Swanson placed third in the 60mH finals with a school record time of 8.65 and a national provisional mark.  Swanson now sits #28th in the country in the 60m hurdles. 

  • Khot Juac – Juac picked up a first-place finish for The Coo in the 1000m with a time of 3:04.22.  

  • Kamry Lindsey – Lindsey added another national provisional mark for USF with a first-place finish in the weight throw at 18.83m (61-09.50.00). Lindsey now sits #13th in the country in the weight throw.  

Men's Highlights 

  • Tyler Hiatt – Hiatt continued his dominance with two first-place finishes in the weight throw and shot put, both being national provisional marks. In the shot put, Hiatt landed a throw of 17.55m(57-07.00), and in the weight throw with a toss of 18.93m (62-01.25). 

  • Brandon Stark- Stark placed first in the 600m with a time of 1:21.42, adding another first-place finish for the Coo.  

  • Micade Shumway- Shumway adds another top finish for the Cougars in the 1 mile, setting a PR with a time of 4:21.92.  

  • Men's 4x400m Relay- Decker, Dingsor, Stark and Cheney won the 4x400m relay with a school record time of 3:16.59.

USF Track & Field will head to the NSIC Indoor Championships February 28-March 1 in Mankato, Minnesota.
