USF Track & Field Close the Weekend with Six National Provisional Marks

MANKATO, MINN./WAYNE, NEB. - The University of Sioux Falls Track & Field team sent a few athletes to compete in the Ted Nelsen Classic at Minnesota State and the Wildcat Indoor Classic at Wayne State this weekend. The Cougars were highlighted by a school record performance by Tyler Hiatt and six national provisional marks. 

Women's Highlights 

  • Abbi Webb – Webb cleared 1.69m (5-06.50) in the high jump, securing a 2nd place finish and a national provisional mark for The Coo at the Ted Nelsen Classic. 

  • Josephine Boyd – Boyd took the top spot in the 5000-meter run at the Ted Nelsen Classic with a time of 19:18.78. 

  • Ella Kolb – Kolb followed behind Boyd in the 5000-meter run with a 2nd place finish and a time of 19:21.06. 

  • Kamry Lindsey – Lindsey took the top spot in the weight throw at the Wildcat Indoor Classic with a national provisional toss of 18.02m (59-01.50). 

  • Olivia Baumberger – Baumberger also added a national provisional mark with a toss of 17.67m (57-11.75) and a 2nd place finish. 

  • Kayla Van Osdel – Van Osdel joined suit with a national provisional mark in the shot put with a throw of 13.75m (45-01.50) and a 1st place finish. 

  • McKenna Comstock – Comstock took the pole vault with a jump of 3.66m (12-00) securing the top spot at the Wildcat Indoor Classic. 

Men's Highlights 

  • Tyler Hiatt – Hiatt delivered yet another dominant performance, securing 1st place in the weight throw with a school record throw of 19.82m (65-00.50) at the Wildcat Indoor Classic, landing himself 7th in all of NCAA DII in that event. Hiatt added another 1st place finish in the shot put with a throw of 17.77m (58-03.75) and hit national provisional marks in both the weight throw and the shot put. 

  • Micade Shumway – Shumway highlighted a 3rd place finish in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:45.76 at the Ted Nelsen Classic.
