USF Track & Field Closes NSIC Indoor Championships with Five Event Champions

MANKATO, MINN. - The University of Sioux Falls Track & Field team closed out the 2025 NSIC Indoor Championships today with eight all-conference athletes and five event champions over the two-day event. The women put together a fourth-place finish with 73-points while the men finished in sixth with 64.5-points. 

Women's Highlights 

  • Tamia Horton – Horton finished second in the 60m dash finals prelims yesterday, with a school record time of 7.42 while finishing fourth in the finals today with a time of 7.48. Horton now sits 14th in the country in the 60m dash. 

  • Kamry Lindsey – Lindsey added another national provisional mark for USF with a second-place finish in the weight throw at 17.83m (58-06.00) while earning all-conference recognition. 

  • Morgan Gehl – Gehl picked up all-conference honors in the mile with a second-place finish at 4:58.09. 

  • Emily Swanson – Swanson continues to rewrite the record books after setting both a conference and school record in the women's pentathlon. With 3,973 points, Swanson picked up all-conference honors on her way to an event championship. 

  • Nicole Flynn – Flynn picked up a personal record and all-conference honors on her way to a shot put gold medal with a throw of 13.56m (44-06.00). 

Men's Highlights 

  • Tyler Hiatt – Hiatt opened the weekend with a solid toss of 19.54m (64-01.25) in the weight throw while earning the title and all-conference honors. In the shot put, Hiatt landed a throw of 17.82m (58-05.75) for his second event title of the meet. Hiatt finished the event with two event titles and two all-conference performances. 

  • Jonny Cheney – Cheney earned all-conference honors with a third-place performance in the men's heptathlon with 4,862 points. 

  • Andrew Edwards – Edwards picked up all-conference honors in the shot put with a throw of 16.50m (54-01.75) to pick up third place. 

  • Brandon Stark – Stark took the top spot in the 600m run with a time of 1:21.51 while landing all-conference honors for The Coo.
