USF Track & Field Closes the Weekend with Several National Provisional Marks and First Place Finishes

VERMILLION, S.D. - USF Track & Field returned back to Vermillion for the South Dakota Challenge, collecting several top-ten finishes. Tamia Horton, Tyler Hiatt, Kamry Lindsey, McKenna Comstock, Olivia Baumberger and Kami Wadsworth also earned national provisional marks. 

Women's Highlights

  • Tamia Horton- Horton claims the title in the 100m dash with a time of 11.43, recording a national provisional mark. Tamia also sets a new school record with this run. 
  • Kamry Lindsey- Lindsey placed tenth in the hammer throw, throwing 45.46m (149-01). Kamry also placed third in the discus throw, with a throw of 48.12m (157-10), recording a national provisional mark. 
  • Olivia Baumberger- Baumberger claims the title in javelin throw, with a throw of 46.28m (151-10), recording a national provisional mark. 
  • Kami Wadsworth- Wadsworth placed third in the javelin throw, with a throw of 42.12m (138-02) recording a national provisional mark. 
  • Morgan Gehl- Gehl picks up a first place finish for the Coo in the 1500m run with a time of 4:44.35.
  • Mallory Salazar- Salazar finished third in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 12:05.93. 
  • Emily Swanson- Swanson placed fifth in the 100m hurdles, with a time of 14.36. 
  • McKenna Comstock- Comstock claims the crown in pole vault, totaling 3.81m, recording a national provisional mark. McKenna now sits 22nd in the nation. 
  • Ella Steussy- Steussy placed second in the triple jump, jumping 11.29m. 
  • Tierney Faulk- Faulk placed seventh in the Heptathlon with a total of 3772 points. 
  • Kendra King- King finished fifth in the long jump, with a jump of 5.29m. 
  • Dani Minsaas- Minsaas placed fifth in the high jump, with a jump of 1.65m.
  • Emma Thomas- Thomas picks up a second place finish in the 800m run, with a time of 2:25.67. 
  • Eva Studt- Studt finished eighth in the 5000m run, with a time of 20:53.32.
  • Tobi Peterson- Peterson places third in the shot put, with a throw of 13.47m (44-02.50).
  • Women's 4x100m Relay- Paige Haack, Mackenzie Everson, Kendall Anderson and Tamia Horton placed 3rd, with a time of 47.20. 
  • Women's 4x400m Relay- Emily Swanson, Mackenzie Everson, Ellie Tramp and Piper Hanson placed 5th, with a time of 4:12.37

Men's Highlights

  • Benjamin Morrison- Morrison finished third in the 800m run, with a time of 1:54.54. 
  • Jonny Cheney- Cheney claims the title in the decathlon, with 6018 total points. 
  • Tyler Hiatt- Hiatt places fourth in the discus throw, with a throw of 51.81m (169-11), earning himself a national provisional mark. Tyler also placed first in the shot put, throwing 17.22m (56-06.00), earning himself another national provisional mark. In the hammer throw, he placed third, with a throw of 56.75m (186-02). 
  • Denver Decker- Decker finished seventh in the 400m dash, with a time of 49.53. Denver also placed fourth in the javelin throw, throwing 53.77m 
  • Micade Shumway- Shumway placed eighth in the 1500m run, with a time of 4:07.17. 
  • Parker Hahn- Hahn picks up a first place finish for the Coo in the 3,000m steeplechase, with a time of 10:40.22.
  • Jay Rhodes- Rhodes placed ninth in the long jump, jumping 6.56m. 
  • Men's 4x400m Relay- Gage Grohs, Jace Cofer, Filmon Wolday and Miles Olofson placed seventh, with a time of 3:30.37.
