MANKATO, MINN. - The University of Sioux Falls Track and Field team compete at the Maverick Open #1 today. Four school records and nine event wins were recorded today. Six national provisional marks were achieved by Tyler Hiatt, Kamry Lindsey, McKenna Comstock, Kami Wadsworth and Emily Swanson. Both the Men's and Women's Team also earned second place overall.
Women's Highlights
- Emily Swanson- Swanson places second in the 100m hurdles with a time of , 13.92. She recorded both a school record and national provisional mark. In addition, Emily placed 6th in the high jump, with a mark of 1.63m.
- Kamry Lindsey- Lindsey placed 3rd in the discus throw, with a throw of 46.13m (151-04). This throw marks a national provisional mark. Kamry also placed 11th in the hammer throw, with a mark of 44.19m (144-11).
- Kami Wadsworth- Wadsworth picks up a first place finish for the Cougars in the shot put, with a throw of 14.03m (46-00.50), also recording a national provisional mark. Kami also placed first in the javelin throw, with a throw of 42.00m (137-09).
- McKenna Comstock- Comstock records a national provisional mark of her own in the pole vault, with a mark of 3.85m, taking second place.
- Tamia Horton- Horton claims the 100m dash title, with a time of 11.77.
- Morgan Gehl- Gehl earns another first place finish for the Cougars in the 800m run, with a time of 2:16.87.
- Maddie Swanson- Swanson claims the crown in the 5000m run, with a time of 18:06.66.
Men's Highlights
- Tyler Hiatt- Hiatt take first place in the shot put, with a throw of 18.24m (59-10.25), recording both a school record and a national provisional mark. In the discus throw he placed second, recording another national provisional mark, with a throw of 51.41m (168-08). Tyler additionally placed 4th in the hammer throw, with a throw of 56.91m, recording a school record.
- Denver Decker- Decker claims the title in the javelin throw, with a mark of 50.68m (166-03). In the 400m hurdles, Denver also placed first, with a time of 53.19, recording a school record.
- Micade Shumway- Shumway picks up another first place finish in the 5000m run, with a time of 15:08.58.
- Miles Olofson- Olofson finished 3rd in the 1500m run, with a time of 4:01.39.
- Brandon Stark- Stark placed 3rd in the 400m run, with a time of 48.95. Brandon also finished seventh in the pole vault, with a mark of 3.98m.
- Ben Mandel- Mandel placed fourth in the 110m hurdles, with a time of 15.18.
