BURNSVILLE, MINN. – University of Sioux Falls senior Kamry Lindsey has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Field Athlete of the Week after an outstanding showing at the USD Early Bird Invite, the conference announced Monday.
Lindsey, a throws specialist from Appleton, Wisconsin, captured fourth place in the discus with a remarkable throw of 155 feet, 8 inches (47.46 meters). Her performance stood out as the best among all NCAA Division II competitors at the event and secured her a provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The impressive throw currently ranks 13th nationally in Division II.
Lindsey's ability to excel against a competitive field highlights her development as an elite thrower. Her provisional qualifying mark this early in the season positions her well for both the upcoming NSIC Championships and a potential appearance at nationals.
The Sioux Falls track and field program looks to build momentum from Lindsey's early success as the Cougars progress through their outdoor campaign, with their senior thrower establishing herself as one of the conference's premier field athletes.
