AUSTIN, Texas - College Sports Commuinicators (CSC) announced their 2024-25 Academic All-America women's track & field/cross country teams today with standout student-athlete, and four-time All-American, Emily Swanson earning second team honors.

Swanson, a heptathlon and pentathlon student-athlete from Odell, Nebraska, closed out a stellar career at USF dominating both in the classroom and on the track. Throughout her academic journey at USF,  she maintained a 3.87 undergraduate GPA along with a 3.91 graduate GPA while earning numerous academic and athletic awards. A consistent leader, Emily made the Dean's List nine consecutive semesters and graduated with dual undergrad degrees in exercise science and business administration while also earning a masters in business administration.

Athletically, Emily redefined the heptathlon and pentathlon event at USF. She's a four-time National All-American, three in the pentathlon and one in the heptathlon, and holds school records in the 60m hurdles, pentathlon, 100m hurdles, outdoor high jump, and heptathlon. During the 2024-25 season alone, she smashed nine school records—including conference benchmarks indoors—captured the NSIC Indoor Field Athlete of the Year and NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year, and twice placed First Team USTFCCCA All-American.

Her well-rounded excellence has now earned her a coveted spot on the CSC Academic All-America Team, a progression from her CSC All-District selection, solidifying her status as one of the nation's premier scholar-athletes.
