SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – University of Sioux Falls senior Tamia Horton has been named the NSIC Women's Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Horton earned the honor after a dominant performance at the Maverick Open, where she captured the 60-meter title in a time of 7.42. She qualified first overall in prelims (7.46) before improving her time in the final to secure the event win in the Cougars' final regular-season meet. Horton has secured four consecutive 60 meter event titles throughout the indoor season thus far.
The senior continues to rank among the top sprinters in NCAA Division II and has consistently posted nationally competitive marks throughout the indoor season. Her performance at the Maverick Open helped solidify USF's momentum heading into the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
