MANKATO, Minn. – The University of Sioux Falls track & field teams turned in a record-setting performance at the Minnesota State Open today highlighted by multiple event titles and Division II marks.
Leading the way was Tamia Horton, who set a program record in the 100m, clocking an 11.41 to win the event and move to No. 3 in Division II this season. Horton also anchored the women's 4x100m relay team to a second-place finish, whilePeyton Hanson topped the pole vault podium and Delanie VanDriel and Tatum Godinez added event titles in the throws to round out a strong weekend for the Cougars.
Key Performances
Tamia Horton delivered one of the top performances of the meet, winning the 100m in a program- and meet-record time of 11.41, a mark that ranks No. 3 in NCAA Division II this season. She also played a key role on the women's 4x100m relay team, joining Paige Haack, Tierney Faulk, and Kendall Anderson to finish in 47.58, a meet record and a top-80 mark nationally.
In the field events, Delanie VanDriel claimed the discus title with a throw of 42.56m, while also finishing second in the shot put with a Division II top-50 mark of 13.47m. Tatum Godinez added another win for Sioux Falls in the javelin, recording a personal-best throw of 37.60m.
The Cougars continued to post strong marks across the jumps and hurdles, with Collin Dingsor placing third in the 110m hurdles with a personal-best 14.94, and Kendra King and Cadence Nuttbrock both recording Division II top-65 marks in the triple jump. Peyton Hanson also secured a victory in the pole vault, clearing 3.67m to rank inside the top-55 nationally.
