ORANGE CITY, Iowa - The University of Sioux Falls track & field team posted a productive few days of competition, highlighted by event titles in the women's high jump and triple jump, strong multi-event performances, and multiple top-three finishes across the jumps.
USF was led by Erika Imdieke and Kendra King on the women's side, while Piper Hanson and Tierney Faulk turned in standout heptathlon efforts. Imdieke claimed the women's high jump title with a clearance of 1.62m, and King won the triple jump at 11.37m with Lyndi Koosman right behind in second at 11.36m. In the multi-events, Hanson and Faulk both scored 3,290 points in the heptathlon and tied for second overall. On the men's side, Jonny Cheney placed third in the high jump, and Chase Lindeman added an 11th-place finish in the decathlon with 4,756 points.
Hanson opened the heptathlon by winning the 100-meter hurdles in 14.51 and added another runner-up finish in the high jump at 1.49m. She also placed third in the 200 meters and finished inside the top 10 in four additional events on her way to a tie for second in the overall standings. Faulk matched Hanson's point total with a balanced effort that included a win in the heptathlon long jump, a victory in the 200 meters, and a third-place finish in the 800 meters. The pair gave the Cougars two of the top performances in the women's combined events competition.
In the open women's field events, Imdieke's victory in the high jump paced a group that also included Cadence Nuttbrock in sixth. The horizontal jumps were another bright spot, with Nuttbrock placing third in the long jump and Landree Wilson adding a fourth-place finish. In the triple jump, King and Koosman gave the Cougars a 1-2 finish, while Amarise Okken added points with a sixth-place mark.
For the men, Cheney's third-place finish in the high jump led the open-event results, while Lindeman contributed across all 10 decathlon events. His best event finish came in the pole vault, where he placed third at 3.90m, and he also took fourth in the 110-meter hurdles.
