SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - University of Sioux Falls Women's Soccer Head Coach
Brittany Goosen announced Thursday afternoon the signing of seven student-athletes who will join the USF Soccer program this fall to continue their academic and athletic careers.
Carley Campbell (Monument, Colo.),
Danielle Cooper (Flower Mound, Texas),
Lauren LaFavre (Burnsville, Minn.),
Lily McKown (Independence, Minn.),
Brayden Paul (Littleton, Colo.),
McKayla Philippi (Las Vegas, Nev.) and
Becca Schmitz (Rochester, Minn.) all signed to join the USF Soccer program this fall.
“We are so excited to finally get to announce our 2016 class,” Goosen said on Wednesday. “Our coaching staff has very high expectations for the seven incoming players and believes that they are all going to come in and make an immediate impact.”
The seven signees hail from four different states, including three from Minnesota, two from Colorado, and one each from Nevada and Texas. In line with her beliefs that this recruiting class will make an immediate impact, four of the seven signees played forward in high school and with their club teams, while the remainder of the class brings balance at the midfield, defender and goalkeeping positions. Goosen expressed her excitement of working to put together her first full recruiting class as she enters her second year as the head coach of the USF Soccer program
“This class is very exciting because it is our first class as a coaching staff that we were able to be a part of the entire recruiting process,” Goosen said. “This class is exactly what I was hoping to put together to help take the next steps in the right direction for this program. We can't wait to see the impact these players have on our team and season next year.”
